just know that when you write
your words will leave traces and outlines of you
your words, the ones that sat in you in the deepest corners of you even when you didn’t see them
had a party there, met partners, had children and grandchildren whom you never met
and now these halves and quarters of the DNA come back out through your hands and mouth
you don’t recognize them but they know you, your smells, and your mess
it’s beautiful birthing a child
let it be nurtured in your belly with love
let it know the truth of its grandmothers’ love before it is birthed, let it taste it, let it touch it, hear it, feel it, sit with it in silence
let it become
let it know who it is in you and you in it
when legacy are trails of you, when legacy has no meaning
your child can bloom
