A reflection on the natural state of things
there in this
I saw you
gold
not as it is on jewelry
but before it is mined
in all your molecules
and the bonds in between
that coat your surface with a color
a tell-tale color
in the warm living of the earth
not knowing the difference between you
and the soil around you
without a difference
without understanding
that is where I would like to know you
I’ll burrow my underground root route to you
and I will find you
to know you as the gold of the earth, and the roots, and the critters around you
that is where I would like to be with you
